Digital Cameras For Sporting Events Or Low Light

!: Digital Cameras For Sporting Events Or Low Light

So you are going to your kids sporting event and want to get some action shots or have a special event inside where your focal point is 30 to 50 feet away. You want to take a digital camera and still get good photos.

Many people want to take a point and shoot camera.

1, Because it is small and can fit in their purse or pocket

2, It is easy to just turn it on point and click the button; hence the same point and shoot

3, There are no settings they have to deal with if they choose not to and they will still get a good photo

The cons to most point and shoot cameras are that their zoom range is less than adequate for what you need and if you can zoom in, the photo taken is usually grainy and very dark.

If you don't need to zoom the digital photo may still be dark if the light in the building is not sufficient. Many people do not realize the amount of lighting needed to get a good quality digital photo. Even though there is light is needs to be very bright to produce a stunning picture.

However, there are some point and shoot cameras that will do a good job. These are newer on the market and in my review the Canon Powershot Elph is pretty good, the Nikon Coolpix , the Sony, and Olympus are all great point and shoot cameras. Look for the higher megapixel and a fast fps (frames per second). The more frames per second the better it should be in low light situations.

The Digital SLR cameras are by far the best for action, low light and generally incredible digital photos. Some of the drawbacks are that the cameras are larger. They replace the regular SLR cameras and are roughly the same size. You can purchase different lenses for these digital SLR cameras such as zoom and wide angle. There are hot shoes on these cameras so that you can buy and external flash for more light.

Keep in mind when taking sports shots you can look for one with a stabilizer which will give a good photo if y our hands are shaking from the excitement of the game or there is wind.

Make sure to turn on the turbo or burst and continual shot option is you are planning to shoot multiple shots in a row. Just depressing the shutter button will not produce multiple quick photos of actions unless you put any camera in that mode.

If you have an option to change the ISO speed in your digital camera [http://digitalcamera.fetching.us/Digital_Photography_tips.html] change this to a fast speed which would mean going to a higher number such as 1000.
